Project overview
A Manhattan Beach homeowner noticed a grey, football-sized paper nest hanging under the garage eave above the driveway, with wasps coming and going all day. The family parked in the driveway and walked under it every morning.
The nest was an aerial paper nest built by a yellow jacket species, large enough by late summer to hold a very defensive colony.
What the client needed
The owners wanted the nest gone with nobody stung, the driveway usable again quickly, and the eave cleaned so the spot would not attract another queen.
- Nest treated and removed safely
- No stings to family or neighbors
- Eave cleaned and treated
- Advice to prevent rebuilding
Our approach
We treated the nest at dusk when the colony was inside, let the treatment work, then removed and bagged the entire paper envelope the next morning. The eave was scraped and treated, and we sealed a gap in the soffit nearby.
- Dusk treatment when the colony was home
- Full nest removed and bagged
- Eave scraped and treated
- Nearby soffit gap sealed
Work process
The job followed our standard wasp nest removal process. Learn more on our wasp nest removal service page.
