Project overview
The owner of a small El Segundo office building noticed droppings collecting on a ledge below a louvered wall vent and bats leaving at dusk. Staff were worried about the smell and about bats getting inside.
Because the call came in October, after the maternity season, we could plan the exclusion right away.
What the client needed
The owner wanted the bats out legally and humanely, the vent kept functional for the building's ventilation, and the guano cleaned off the ledge and walkway.
- Humane exclusion that follows state rules
- Vent airflow preserved
- Guano removed from ledge and walkway
- Gaps sealed to prevent return
Our approach
We watched the evening fly-out to confirm all exits, then installed one-way exclusion devices on the vent openings. After a week with no returns, the devices came down, the vent was re-screened and the guano was cleaned with HEPA equipment.
- Evening fly-out observation
- One-way exclusion devices on active openings
- Vent re-screened with fine mesh
- HEPA guano cleanup and disinfection
